Stock market to do better in H2, says Affin
Community stockbroker, Affin Investment Bank Bhd (AIBB), foresees the outlook for the stock market to be better in the
second half of the year, in contrast to the first.
Head of Stockbroking Affin Investment Bank, Datuk Saiful Bahri Zainuddin, said this would be due to the expected general election and the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP)," he said.
He also said the banking sector had done particularly well, along with oil and gas and also construction, due to the spillover effect of the ETP.
Saiful Bahri was commenting on the stock market outlook after the launch of AIBB's new stockbroking branch in Sea Park, Petaling Jaya. The event was officiated by AIBB Chairman, Tan Sri Yaacob Mohd Zain.
He said the new branch was in line with AIBB's growth strategy, which aspired to establish a meaningful footprint beyond Kuala Lumpur.
"The new stockbroking branch is probably the first in the
neighbourhood, to help the local populace plan their investments, and explore cross-border trading opportunities to grow their money," he added.
Yaacob said AIBB's stockbroking division had five branches, and the target was to establish a presence in Bukit Tinggi(Klang), Puchong and Kepong by the year-end. -- Bernama
