NTPM Q3 pre-tax profit falls to RM18m

NTPM Holdings Bhd's pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended Jan 31, 2012 fell to RM18.06 million from RM20.6 million in the same quarter of 2011.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, the consumer goods and paper company
said the lower pre-tax profit was mainly due to the increase in staff, utilities
and financing costs.
It said revenue, however, increased to RM116.3 million from RM14.86 million
mainly due to contribution from sales of baby diapers.
On prospects, NTPM expected satisfactory performance for the financial year
ending Apr 30, 2012 despite the challenges ahead. NTPM also announced an interim dividend of 1.45 sen. -- Bernama
