MAS-AirAsia probe: MyCC won't be influenced

The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC)'s investigation into the share exchange agreement between Malaysian Airline System Sdn Bhd and AirAsia Bhd will not be influenced by any party,
including the government.
Making this statement, Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said there will be no influence on any investigation or decision made by MyCC as it was an independent body.
"MyCC is chaired by Tan Sri Siti Norma Yaakob, a former judge with high integrity, and I am confident of MyCC's capability in delivering its decision on the case," he said.
Former Chief Judge of Malaya, Siti Norma Yaakob, was appointed Chairman of MyCC on April 1 last year to head MyCC, a monitoring body tasked to help reduce the level of monopoly and industry price control alliances to prevent negative developments in local trade activities.
Ismail said the MyCC investigations were being carried out in the interest of the people in general. -- Bernama
