Petra Energy, Baker Hughes inks O&G pact

Integrated oil & gas brown field services provider, Petra Energy Bhd, and high performance drillng services firm, Baker Hughes (M) Sdn Bhd, have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to undertake oil & gas (O&G) projects in Malaysia.

Under the terms of the MoU, both companies will co-operate to provide capability development services, including deploying their respective expertise and knowledge, for oil & gas project operators in Malaysia, Petra Energy said in a statement today.

Signing on behalf of Petra Energy was its Chief Operating Officer Henry Toyad while Baker Hughes was represented by Ng Say Heng, Vice-President Marketing, Southeast Asia.

Baker Hughes' expertise in high-performance drilling, evaluation, completion and production technology and services, pressure pumping, integrated operations and reservoir consulting would undoubtedly augur well for Petra Energy, said Toyad.

The statement said that Petra Energy's local capability would be further enhanced with the range of the best in class technology of Baker Hughes and reputable global subsurface capability of Reservoir Development Services, a product line within Baker Hughes. - Bernama
