Pharmaniaga bullish on private sector sales
Pharmaniaga Bhd, the largest integrated local healthcare company in Malaysia, says it is aiming for a minimum of six to seven per cent rise in its revenue contribution from the private sector.
"There are plenty of growth opportunity in the private sector as it contributes three per cent to the company's revenue currently, and we are expecting an increase in sales in the sector in the coming years," said its Managing Director, Datuk Farshila Emran.
Farshila said the company was working aggressively to offer its products to the private hospitals, pharmacies and others.
To attract more interest from the private sector, Pharmaniaga will also expand its list of drugs and offer a wide range of products, Farshila said during a media briefing today.
She said the company has identified more than 100 new products to be developed over the next 10 years ranging from solid, injectables and hypolised products.
On Pharmaniaga's expansion in the Asean market, its Chairman, Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin, said it was working on completing its manufacturing plant in Indonesia, while looking forward to expanding into the Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam markets.
It would be also working towards finalising a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia to export its products into the country.
"We are confident that Pharmaniaga will be able to grow as we are committed to expanding our business locally and internationally," he said.
For the year ended Dec 31, 2011, Pharmaniaga Bhd recorded a pre-tax profit of RM73 million, a 62 per cent increase. -- Bernama
