KUALA LUMPUR: Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd, via its subsidiary, Vietnam Star has unveiled a new state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz Autohaus in Ho Chi Minh City, as part of the company's continuous expansion plan in Vietnam.
The initial investment of the new dealership is estimated at US$5 million (RM1 million).
The Mercedes-Benz Autohaus, which is also one of the largest in Southeast Asia, is located at Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard, District7, Ho Chi Minh City.
It spreads over in a three-level building with more than 4,400 sq m of usage space. It is able to accommodate up to 20 cars at a time in its showroom, and has a service capacity for over 20 cars per day and parking space for over 60 cars on its top roof and ground.
"Vietnam is a fast growing country and we are confident in the economic development. We see great potential in the development of the luxury segment in the short to medium term.
"More people want to own premium, safe, and fascinating cars of Mercedes-Benz, as well as have their cars serviced at Mercedes-Benz. We are committed to a long-term investment in Vietnam," said Datuk Edward Lee Ming Foo, the group managing director of Hap Seng Consolidated in a statement yesterday.
The state-of-the-art showroom and service centre is launched by Vietnam Star. Hap Seng Consolidated is the sole shareholder of Vietnam Star and the investor in the Vietnam Star Mercedes-Benz Autohaus network.
