Century Logistics posts lower Q1 net profit

Century Logistics Holdings Bhd recorded a net profit of RM4.3 million, or earnings per share (EPS) of 5.3 sen, in the
first quarter (Q1) ended March 31, 2012, down from RM6.4 million, or EPS of 8.2 sen, in the same period a year ago.
Revenue slipped marginally to RM65.3 million in Q1 2012 from RM66.8 million previously.
In a statement here today, the company said 87 per cent of total revenue in the period reviewed was derived from total logistics services while procurement logistics services contributed the balance.
When compared with the same quarter in 2011, profitability for Q1 2012 declined due mainly to the start-up losses from the operation of the company's inaugural double hull product tanker. -- Bernama
