Sime Darby Q3 net profit up 6.8pc

Sime Darby Bhd, the world's largest palm oil planter by landbank size,
said for the third quarter ended March 31, its net profit rose 6.8
percent to RM876 million from RM820.12 million a year earlier.

In a stock exchange filing on Wednesday, Sime Darby said revenue climbed 8.85 percent to RM11.03 billion.

Net
profit for the nine months rose 30 percent to RM3.1 billion from RM2.4
billion in the same period last year due to better results from its
plantation, industrial and property divisions.

Going forward,
Sime Darby said it expects its performance for the current financial
year ending June 30, 2012 will be better than the previous year. --
