Domino's Pizza eyes 100 outlets by 2013
Domino's Pizza Malaysia is confident of exceeding its initial target of
opening 100 outlets in Peninsular Malaysia by year-end, driven by
strong demand for its pizza, said President and Chief Operating Officer
of Domino's Malaysia and Singapore Ba U Shan-Ting.
"Last month, we had 75 outlets and today we have 87. It may exceed
our target. There are huge possibilities for the 100 outlets target to
be met earlier than year-end," he told reporters after a signing
ceremony between Domino's, SAP, ABeam Consulting and NEC Corporation of
Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Currently, there are 87 Domino's Pizza stores in Peninsular
Malaysia, and the company is planning on expanding to Sabah and Sarawak
next year, Ba said.
Each outlet is expected to cost about RM450,000 to RM500,000, depending on the location and size of the respective store.
As for the agreement inked today, Ba said Domino's
Malaysia is investing RM4 million with its technology partners SAP,
ABeam Consulting and NEC Corporation of Malaysia (NEC) to reinforce and
strengthen the pizza retailer's operational efficiencies.
"The agreement marks Domino's plans to upgrade its information
technology infrastructure by introducing SAP, an all-in-one business
solution software." -- Bernama
