TM to woo more developers
TM state general manager Ramlan Omar said the group had been working
with several developers in Johor, Penang and the Klang Valley to
install the service at their property projects.
"So when someone moves in, immediately he has our UniFi service," he
told reporters after signing a service agreement for the deployment and
provision of TM's fibre network infrastructure and services to Berjaya
Hills properties in Bukit Tinggi, Pahang.
"We have started
working with developers to include our UniFi service in their
properties for the last two to three years and we have probably worked
with around 15 developers to date," Ramlan said.
On the collaboration with Berjaya Hills, he said the service agreement was for five years and renewable.
"We invested RM1.1 million while Berjaya Hills Bhd
invested RM1.4 million to build the infrastructure to ensure there is
smooth broadband connectivity for hotel guests and people living around
the areas," he said.
The properties and developments at Berjaya Hills will be powered by
TM's fibre optic network and premium Internet services via TM Direct,
with the capabilities to be upgraded up to 1Gbps bandwidth to cater to
the current and future communication needs of travellers and villa
owners.
Berjaya Hills Bhd chief executive Teh Ming Wah said a
good Internet connection at the hill has been long overdue by at least
10 to 11 years.
"We used to look out the sky and when the
weather was bad, rest assured the connection will not be good, but now
with TM's involvement, it's all in the past," she added.
