Ronser to setup RM2m waste water plant
Ronser Bio-Tech Sdn Bhd, a company involved in the treatment of high
organic waste water, will set up a RM2 million factory to boost the use
of mass biosystem (MBS) technology.
Its deputy chairman, Woo Min Fong, said MBS, an ammonia-reducing technology, would benefit the water and aquaculture industries.
"A high concentration of ammonia is detrimental to the health of aquatic organisms," she told a media briefing here today.
She
said this after signing an agreement with China-based SuZhou Kangrui
Environmental Science Co Ltd to be the sole distributor for the
latter's MBS technology.
Also present was Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui.
The technology transfer from SuZhou Kangrui was expected take place within the next six months, she said.
Woo
said the company also signed another agreement with Shanghai Jiao Tong
University to jointly set up a research and development (RandD) centre
in Seremban to study the Micro-Nano Bubble technology.
This
technology would reduce energy cost by 80 per cent, produce cleaner
water and occupy a small environmental footprint, she said.
"Prior
to the agreement, we had already signed an agreement with the
university in 2009, whereby we pay them 1 million renminbi per year for
10 years to do the RandD," she said.
Prof Zhang Zhenjia, the
university's director of Environmental and Engineering School as well
as the inventor of the technologies, said the market value for the
Micro-Nano Bubble technology in China was between RMB10 million and
RMB20 million.
"We have just started implementing the MBS
technology in China, and we expect the market value to reach 50 million
renminbi per year.
"The MBS technology is expected to be bigger
because it can be sold directly to consumers, whereas the Micro-Nano
Bubble technology is more for industrial use," he said. -- Bernama
