KUALA LUMPUR (June 13): The FBM KLCI extended its losses at mid-morning on Thursday, in tandem with the tepid sentiment at most regional markets.
At 10am, the FBM KLCI lost 0.93% or 16.28 points to 1,758.84.
Losers led gainers by 487 to 72, while 144 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 621.04 million shares valued at RM393.43 million.
The top losers included Petronas Gas, KLK, Genting, PPB, Hong Leong Bank, Ibraco, Petronas Dagangan, HLFG, Oldtown and Cahya Mata Sarawak.
Etitech was the most actively traded counter with 125.66 million shares done. The stock fell half a sen to 10.5 sen.
The other actives included Malton, MAS, Asiapac, Luster, Globaltec, DBE Gurney and Cybertowers.
The top gainers included Dutch Lady, Genting PLANTATION []s, Yokohama, SCGM, IGB, United Malacca, Hong Leong Capital and LBI Capital.
Meanwhile, Asian shares hovered near 2013 lows and Japanese stocks took another dive as the prospect of less stimulus from central banks depressed sentiment, while the U.S. dollar fell further against the yen amid uncertainty over the Federal Reserve's policy outlook, according to Reuters.
Global stocks, commodities, bonds and currencies have been roiled in recent weeks on concerns the Fed could scale back its massive stimulus measures in coming months, it said.

KUALA LUMPUR (June 13): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives were traded lower this morning, dealers said.

At 9.28 am, spot month June 2013 decreased 13 points to 1,758.5, July 2013 lost 12.5 points to 1,762, September 2013 fell 11 points to 1,761.5 and December 2013 eased seven points to 1,769.

Turnover stood at 2,882 lots while open interest totalled 30,398 contracts.

The underlying FBM KLCI was 10.94 points weaker at 1,764.18 after 33 minutes of trading.
