KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 29): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, in line with the firmer performance on the cash market.

Spot month August 2013 increased 21 points to 1,705, September 2013 added 20 points to 1,694, December 2013 rose 18 points to 1,682, and March 2014 gained 14 points to 1,676.5.

Turnover decreased to 16,168 lots from 37,374 lots yesterday, while open interest fell to 60,882 contracts from 81,740 contracts previously.

The underlying FBM KLCI ended 17.61 points higher, at 1,703.78.
