KUALA LUMPUR (June 26): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI futures (FKLI) contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher today, tracking gains on the cash market.

Phillip Futures Sdn Bhd Dealer, Lim Eng Wee, said that FBM KLCI erased its early losses to close higher, on late buying in line with the stronger regional markets.

"Asian markets ended broadly higher, as a weaker-than-expected economic growth in US is reigniting hope of supportive policy from the Federal Reserve," he told Bernama.

Spot month June 2014 added 3.5 points to 1,892.5, July 2014 improved four points to 1,896, September 2014 gained two points to 1,899.5, and December 2014 earned one point to 1,889.

Turnover declined to 20,163 lots, from 24,609 lots on Wednesday, while open interest widened to 68,759 contracts, from 63,588 contracts previously.

The benchmark FBM KLCI ended the day 0.42 of a point higher, at 1,889.97.
