FBM KLCI closes higher

KUALA LUMPUR: The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) closes 2.2 points or 0.14% higher to 1,573.6 today.

There were 322 gainers, 435 losers and 333 counters remained unchanged.

The top three gainers were DLady that climbed 52 sen to RM30.50, Petgas added 40 sen to RM16.40 and RCI increased 31 sen to RM2.06.

Rock Chemical Industries Bhd with the stock code RCI has received a takeover notice from Mega First Corp Bhd to acquire shares it does not own for RM2.10 each.

RCI is a 60.43% subsidiary of Mega First.

For the heavyweights, Maybank lost 9 sen to RM8.72 , Tenaga added 13 sen to RM6.49 and CIMB lost 2 sen to RM7.64.

For the other regional bourses, Nikkei 225 added 12.16 points to 10,141.99, the Hang Seng Index lost 202.56 points to 21,115.29, Shanghai Composite Index gained 5.45 points to 2,410.18, the Kospi Index added 12.56 points to 2,047.00 and Straits Times Index was down 18.52 points to 2,992.16.
