KLCI down in early trade, Petronas stocks weigh
KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips started the week on Monday on a lacklustre note, with the FBM KLCI in the red, with Petronas Dagangan and Petronas Gas the top decliners but with just 100 shares traded for each counter.
At
9.05am, the KLCI was down 1.67 points to 1,601.40. Turnover was 41.17
million shares valued at RM14.78 mil. The broader market was firmer,
with 99 gainers to 33 losers and 100 stocks unchanged.
Hwang DBS Vickers Research
said in its market outlook the local bourse would see some selling
pressures on Monday following strong gains over the past week and it
might trend downwards towards its 1,580 support level.
Petronas Dagangan fell 46 sen to RM21.20 and Petronas Gas 30 sen to RM17.70, each seeing 100 shares done.
Among the plantations, KLK fell 16 sen to RM22.90 and Far East 10 sen to RM.70.
Hunza Property-WB fell nine sen to 53 sen, F&N eight sen to RM18.72 and CIMB six sen to RM7.52.
BIMB extended its gains from last week, adding six sen to RM3.26, Pos five sen to RM2.85 while TM, Public Bank and MISC gained four sen each to RM5.73, RM13.80 and RM4.26 respectively.
Apex was the top gainer, up nine sen to RM1.04 while Kulim added eight sen to RM4.57 and MBMR-WA seven sen to 68 sen
