KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips extended their decline by late morning on
Thursday, with the 30-stock FBM KLCI falling nearly 15 points, dragged
down by losses in plantations and Petronas-related stocks.
At
10.41am, the KLCI was down 14.48 points to 1,626.53. Turnover was
334.24 million shares valued at RM352.20mil. Declining stocks thumped
advancers 434 to 82.
PPB,
whose share price fell to a three-year low on Wednesday, extended its
losses, down 46 sen to RM12.82. KLK fell 44 sen to RM22.50.
The selling was also aggravated by the fall in crude palm oil futures, hitting a three week low of RM2,951.
Petronas Gas and Aeon Credit fell 42 sen each to RM18.76 and RM12.10 while Petronas Dagangan gave up 28 sen to RM21.60. Tradewinds lost 27 sen to RM7.46, Shell 17 sen to RM8.86 and HL Bank 12 sen lower at RM13.32.
