F&N up on report Coca-Cola keen on major shareholder's beverage business (3689)

KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of F&N Holdings Bhd advanced on Thursday on market talk that Coca-Cola Co. was keen on its major shareholder, Fraser and Neave Ltd's beverage business.
At 9.50am, F&N Holdings was up 38 sen to RM19.50. There were 64,400 shares done.
The
FBM KLCI was up 2.35 points to 1,634.82. Turnover was 241.53 million
shares done valued at RM125.39mil. There were 174 gainers, 166 losers
and 205 counters unchanged.
F&N, which is listed in Singapore, owns 56.32% of F&N Holdings. F&N had requested for a trading halt on Thursday.
Bloomberg
reported that Coca-Cola was exploring a bid for the beverage business
of F&N. The unit, including F&N's diary and soft-drinks
business may be worth as much as S$3bil.
