Melati Ehsan targets selling all 360 Bay Sentul condominiums in 2 yrs (5219)
KUALA LUMPUR: Melati Ehsan Holdings Bhd expects to sell all the 360 units of its newly-launched Bayu Sentul condominium development within the next two years.
Its managing director Tan Sri Yap Suan Chee said on Friday the housing project, undertaken by the company's unit, Arus Embun Sdn Bhd,
was expected to be completed within the next three years. "We have done
the earthworks. The reception so far has been good and we have so far
sold 50 per cent of the units.
"We expect better sales in the coming year because the price is affordable at this point of time.
"In
Sentul, it is now difficult to find property in the range of RM500,000
to RM750,000," he told reporters after the launch of Bayu Sentul by
Kuala Lumpur Datuk Bandar, Datuk Ahmad Phesal Talib, here.
Yap
said other than Bayu Sentul, Melati Ehsan was set to build 500 units of
affordable flats, with a project value of RM82 million.
Meanwhile, Yap said Kuala Lumpur City Hall should not impose high development charges on developers building affordable homes.
"If
we have to pay high development charges, then the cost will be passed
to the consumers, which makes the house no more affordable. "I have
personally spoken to the Datuk Bandar regarding this issue and he has
shown his serious interest on the matter," he said. - Bernama
