Suiwah Q3 pre-tax profit soars to RM7.14m

Suiwah Corp Bhd's pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended February 28, 2013 rose to RM7.14 million from RM2.44 million in
the same quarter last year.
Revenue, however, fell to RM107.05 million from RM108.45 million previously, it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.
Suiwah
said the higher pre-tax profit was due to the overall improvement in
the consumer spending in the retail sector during the Chinese New Year.
"Going forward, retail sales remain favourable driven by resilient local consumer sentiment and stable employment outlook.
"We aim to be a great volume retailer, ensuring that our customers
find our products desirable and that they are constantly delighted by
the price, quality, range and services," it said.-- Bernama
