KUALA LUMPUR (May 14): GUINNESS ANCHOR BHD []'s pre-tax profit rose to RM81.5 million for its third quarter ended March 31, 2013, up 18.6 per cent from RM68.7 million in the same period last year.
Revenue increased 21.3 per cent to RM442.5 million from RM364.7 million.
Managing Director Hans Essaadi said the group were able to grow profit on the back of flat revenue largely due to favourable product and channel mix and efficient cost management.
"Our performance was also supported by a strong third quarter due to the Chinese New Year, whereby our promotional activities received great response resulting in increased sales in all channels, especially in the off-trade to retailers," he said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.
Essaadi said given the solid third quarter performance, Guinness Anchor's full-year performance is expected to end on a satisfactory note. -- BERNAMA
