Trading ideas: UMW, GoldIS, Notion Vtech

KUALA LUMPUR: Hwang DBS Vickers Research expects UMW, GoldIS and Notion Vtech to be among the counters that could see trading interest on Friday.
It said UMW Holdings
announced its plan to list the oil & gas business in Malaysia by
selling down its equity stake to 61% via an IPO comprising an offer for
sale of 231 million shares and a public issue of 612 million new shares.
As for Goldis, the company has inked a concession agreement to upgrade and expand a sewage treatment plant in China.
It
said Notion Vtech reported a disappointing set of quarterly earnings.
On the performance of Wall Street, it said key US equity indices
slipped between 0.2% and 0.5% at the closing bell as sentiment was
dented by weak economic data. "This could put added pressures on
Malaysian equities today. Following a 16.3-point or 0.9% decline
yesterday, the benchmark FBM KLCI may ease a bit more ahead, possibly
retreating towards the immediate support line of 1,750," said HDBSVR.
