Samchem eyes Vietnam, to contribute 30% of group revenue
KUALA LUMPUR: Samchem Holdings Bhd
expects its Vietnam operations to increase its contribution to the
revenue from 16.1% in the financial year ended Dec 31, 2012 (FY2012) to
30% in three years.
The industrial chemicals distributor said on
Wednesday its target was to further expand its Vietnam operations and
enlarge revenue contribution.
Samchem's Vietnam operations had increased its contribution from 13.9% in 2011 to 16.1% in 2012 of RM526.4mil.
Its CEO Ng Thin Poh
said on Wednesday its Vietnam's operations continued to expand by
double-digit, rising 20.2% rise in revenue to RM84.8mil in FY 2012 from
RM70.5mil in FY 2011.
He said the commendable performance was
mainly due to Vietnam's economy experiencing rapid growth, expanding
population, and business-friendly government policies.
"Going
forward, we aim to strengthen our presence in the country by expanding
the group's distribution network in order to tap the vast opportunities
afforded by the increasing industrialization in Vietnam," Ng added.
