KUALA LUMPUR (July 2): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed marginally lower today after volatile trading, tracking weakness in the underlying cash market, a dealer said.

"Today’s decline is mainly just a pause for a breather after four straight session gains. Spot month contracts remain premium to the cash market, holding a
positive sentiment," he said.

July 2013 eased 1.5 points to 1,774.5, August 2013 pared one point to 1,775, September 2013 dipped 1.5 points to 1,772 and December 2013 lost 0.5 point to 1,773.

Turnover dropped to 5,028 lots from 7,083 lots on Monday, while open interest stood at 36,387 contracts compared with 36,363 contracts previously.

The underlying FBM KLCI fell 3.25 points to close at 1,771.89.
