KUALA LUMPUR (July 17): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today in tandem with the firmer cash market, dealers said.

Spot month July 2013 and August 2013 added 0.5 of a point each to 1,788.5 and 1,789, respectively.

December 2013 rose 2.5 points to 1,792. September 2013 stood at 1,787.5.

Turnover fell to 3,409 lots from 4,899 lots Tuesday while open interest decreased to 39,094 contracts from 40,055 contracts yesterday.

The underlying FBM KLCI ended 2.27 point better at 1,788.66.
