KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 6): Maxis Bhd said today its search for a new chief financial officer (CFO) is still on-going.
The position has been left vacant after the former CFO Nasution Mohamed was appointed to the post of joint chief operating officer in June this year.
Speaking to the media after the company's results briefing today, Nasution jokingly said the hunt is on for a "better CFO than the previous one", before saying that announcements would be made in due course.
"However, the whole restructuring exercise is expected to be complete by end August," he said.
Maxis has been undergoing a management reshuffle since June, with the telecommunications player seeing several of its top posts left vacant.
The changes, which trimmed top heavy management, came into effect on June 10. Its eight business units were streamlined into four main business segments, namely enterprise solutions, consumer business, sales and services and digital services.
The group's new CEO, Morten Lundel, is expected to come in on October 1.
"He is aware of the structure refinements that we are going through. I don't foresee any major changes to be made when he comes in, although we cannot discount some tweaks that will be made according to his preferences," said Maxis chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda.
