KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 13): Unico-Desa PLANTATION []s Bhd announced that its net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013, had plunged 96.8% to RM348,000 from RM10.9 million earned in previous year corresponding quarter.

Revenue also fell sharply to RM33.8 million from RM52.3 million.

The Sabah-based plantation company blamed its poor results on low crop season, high manuring cost and weak prices of oil palm products.
