KLCI futures closes stronger, lifted by firmer cash market

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 13): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed stronger today, lifted by the firmer cash market and bullish regional sentiment, dealers said.
At close, spot month August 2013 advanced 18 points to 1,800.5, September 2013 gained 17 points to 1,796.5, December 2013 improved 16 points to 1,796, and March 2014 rose 14 points to 1,796.5.
Turnover improved to 5,969 lots from 3,207 lots on Monday, while open interest was up to 41,038 contracts, from 38,224 contracts previously.
The underlying FBM KLCI closed 10.52 points higher at 1,795.09.
