KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Johor's son Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim has been appointed chairman and director of CONSTRUCTION [] and property developer, KNUSFORD BHD [].

Tunku Ismail, 29, is the son of Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, a major shareholder of Knusford.

According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Tunku Ismail was appointed to the position on Aug 21.

His appointment comes with four new faces on the company's board of directors.

The four are Datuk Daing A Malek Daing A Rahaman, Lim Chen Herng, Lim Jeng Kuan and Avinderjit Singh.

Meanwhile, Kang Hui Ling, Cho Joy Leong @ Cho Yok Lon, Lim Keng Cheng and Datuk Lim Kang Swee have resigned from the board for personal reasons.

Tunku Ismail completed his studies in Hale School, Australia and was enrolled in the Indian Military Academy.

He was appointed Tunku Mahkota Johor in 2010.

Currently, Tunku Ismail is the Commanding Officer of Johor Military Force and also the president of the Johor Football Association.

It is worth noting that the Sultan of Johor and businessman Datuk Lim Kang Hoo are major shareholders of Knusford with a joint 30.11% stake held through their common vehicle, Aman Setegap Sdn Bhd.
