KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 25): Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa has been appointed as the chairman of Tropicana Corporation Bhd, replacing Datuk Rohana Mahmood --  the previous independent non-executive chairman of Tropicana Corporation Bhd.

Rastam began his career in the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service as an officer attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in April 1974, and has spent more than 36 years as a diplomat in the service of the Malaysian government, said Tropicana.

He was also appointed as secretary general of the ministry of foreign affairs in 2006, and had officially retired from government service in 2010.

He is currently the chief executive of Institute of Strategic & International Studies (ISIS), Malaysia’s premier think tank.
