KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 30): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today in line with the firmer performance on the cash market.

Spot month August 2013 increased 16.5 points to 1,722, September 2013 added 13.5 points to 1,707.5, December 2013 rose 10.5 points to 1,693 and March 2014 gained 11.5 points to 1,688.

Turnover decreased to 13,918 lots from 16,168 lots yesterday, while open interest fell to 56,452 contracts from 60,882 contracts previously.

The underlying FBM KLCI ended 23.8 points higher at 1,727.58.
