French seismic company CGG bags Petronas contract
KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has awarded a contract to French seismic company CGG to shoot and process 10,0000 sq km of 3D shoot.
Reports said on Friday the shoot was off Sabah and Sarawak.
The reports said the acquisition began in August and was due to continue for five months.
Two vessels are being deployed to ensure the program is completed before the onset of monsoon season.
The reports said while CGG didn't specify blocks or areas to be surveyed but they included a shallow water area.
The geology ranges from carbonate layers to complex channels and shallow gas anomalies.
