KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Investment Bank (RHB IB) has emerged as Asiamoney’s best research house for small-cap coverage in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, according to the latest Brokers Poll 2013 published recently.
RHB IB was also voted the No 1 Most Improved Brokerage Over The Last 12 Months, and was among the top three in the Best Local Brokerage, Best for Overall Country Research and Best Overall Sales Services categories in Malaysia.
Respondents also voted DMG and Partners Securities Pte Ltd of Singapore, a member of the RHB banking group, as the second Best Local Brokerage. Its analysts, Terence Wong and Jason Saw, were ranked among the Best Analysts in Singapore.
Asiamoney’s poll of the region’s leading brokers this year received responses from 2,468 different institutions.
“We are very pleased with our progress in the recent Asiamoney Brokers Poll as it underlines our accomplishment in supporting both our local and regional clients to meet their funding needs,” said RHB in a statement yesterday.
RHB IB managing director and chief executive officer Mike Chan said the merger of RHB IB with OSK Investment Bank Bhd has further strengthened the banking group’s position as an investment bank with a regional platform.
“This achievement also reflects our experience and strength, especially in small-cap research in various industries, including infrastructure, power, plantation, property development, construction and government-linked companies,” he added.
