KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): Rubber prices closed mixed today on lack of demand and given the weaker ringgit against the US dollar, a dealer said. 

He said the economic slowdown in China spurred buyers to reduce rubber purchases given the high inventories in the country.

At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board's official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 fell 1.5 sen to 710 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk increased 2.5 sen to 483.50 sen a kg.        

The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 added two sen to 711.50 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk increased 2.5 sen to 484.50 sen a kg.
