KUALA LUMPUR (Mar 4): UMW Oil & Gas Corp Bhd has pocketed an estimated RM148 million contract from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd following a successful bid.
In a statement to Bursa Malaysia today, UMW Oil & Gas said the contract involved the provision of a hydraulic workover unit (HWU) rig, an accomdation work barge and a portable crane.
"The provision of the above-mentioned HWU is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of UMWOG Group (UMW Oil & Gas) for the financial year ending 31 December 2014," UMW Oil & Gas said.
UMW Oil & Gas said it had bid for the contract via wholly-owned unit UMW Petrodril (M) Sdn Bhd.
According to UMW Oil & Gas, the contract has an initial period of two years with an option for a one-year extension.
