Monday, 09 June 2014 19:22 KUALA LUMPUR (June 9): The Malaysian rubber market closed lower today, on the back of a stronger ringgit against the US dollar, a dealer said. The Tokyo Commodity Exchange however, closed higher, backed by gains in Japanese equities, which boosted buying sentiment for the commodity. At close, the Malaysian Rubber Board's official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 fell 2.5 sen to 527.00 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk eased 0.5 sen to 457.00 sen a kg. The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 was two sen lower at 526 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk decreased at 456.50 sen a kg. |
