KUALA LUMPUR: YNH Property Bhd's controlling shareholder Datuk Dr Yu Kuan Chon bought additional 420,000 shares in the property company on the open market today, according to the filing with Bursa Malaysia. 

Last Friday, Yu also mopped up 740,000 YNH shares on the open market after the stock price retreated from the recent peak of RM2.20. YNH share price closed at RM2.07 today, with 1.46 million shares changing hands. 

Yu and his family, the single largest shareholder of YNH, currently holds a direct and indirect 31.86% equity stake in the property firm. 

Meanwhile, it is noticed that Yu has been accumulating shares in Rapid Synergy Bhd recently. 

Yu made the news headlines for his investment in Hong Leong Capital Bhd, that had prevented blocked tycoon Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan's plan to take the investment banking group private through Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd last year.
