KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 27): JCY International Bhd says it has temporarily shut down its  factory operations in Kulai Jaya, Johor following worker unrest and outbreak of fire yesterday.

It says the damage to the factories and properties of the company would not pose any material impact on the financial performance and position of the group for the quarter ending Sept 30,2014.

“The company is still in the process of assessing the impact caused to the operation of the group due to the temporary shutdown of the operation located at Kulai Jaya District," it says in a statement.

There are no disruptions to all other operations outside of Kulai Jaya, it adds.

JCY says it is currently taking active steps and measures to address the problems and to reach an amicable settlement with the workers.
