11 Dec 2009 07:21 GMT DJ MARKET TALK: KLCI Down 0.1%; Selling Into Strength -Dealers

0721 GMT [Dow Jones] KLCI down 0.1% at 1258.84 in thin trade; market breadth remains negative as investors continue to sell into strength ahead of weekend, say dealers. "There really aren't any compelling reasons to get into the market at this juncture. Capital preservation is the key consideration," says one dealer; tips KLCI in 1256-1265 range. Maybank Investment Bank's Lee Cheng Hooi says large local funds are distributing their positions. "There could be a potential steep correction very soon. Tactically, investors should liquidate all their stocks," he says. Among decliners, LCL Corp (7177.KU) down 29.7% at 22.5 sen; Genting (3182.KU) down 0.7% at MYR7.04, IJM Corp (3336.KU) down 1.3% at MYR4.49. On upside, Affin (5185.KU) +5.6% at MYR2.47, Tan Chong (4405.KU) +4.8% at MYR2.64 and Hong Leong Finance Group (1082.KU) +0.9% at MYR7.08.(VGB)
