TM, TTDI Land in high speed broadband deal
KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) today sealed a service agreement with TTDI Land Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Naza TTDI, for the provision of its high speed broadband service (HSBB) at TTDI Alam Impian, Shah Alam.
The collaboration is the first of its kind between TM and a property developer in Selangor.
Vice President of TM Selangor, Datuk Zaini Maatan said the investment cost for the UniFi - TM's HSBB offering launched in March 2010 - project in Alam Impian will amount to RM1 million.
"The agreement will enable property owners and residents of the township to make full use of the connectivity in their broadband-ready TTDI Alam Impian premises," Zaini said during the signing ceremony.
"We are now looking at collaborating with five more property developers in the HSBB project," he added.
He said the current TM subscriber base for the HSBB has reached
110,000.
Zaini said the HSBB has the capacity to service 900,000 premises in the Klang Valley, Penang, Kedah and Johor and by year-end, this figure will increase to 1.1 million.
TM began its collaborative efforts in 2010 with two other property developers, Dynasty View Sdn Bhd and Mudra Tropika Sdn Bhd.
In the case of Dynasty View, the provision of HSBB services was for the residential development of Seri Austin, located within the Tebrau area of the Iskandar Region of Johor.
For Mudra Tropika, the HSBB service was for residents of Nong Chik Heights in Jalan Kolam Ayer, Johor Bahru.
Meanwhile, the group managing director of Naza TTDI Group of Companies, SM Faliq Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin said with the collaboration, NAZA TTDI will offer all new buyers of homes at TTDI Alam Impian, Free VIP 5 Mbps UniFi service for a maximum period of two years.
With the agreement, the 208-acre TTDI Alam Impian township located in Section 35, Shah Alam, will be the first UniFI township in the central region comprising Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya.- Bernama
