MAA sees vehicle sales at 608,000
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has lowered its forecast for vehicle sales in 2011 to 608,000 from 618,000.
The motor trade body said on Monday, July 18 the lower outlook was due to the impact from the disruption in the supply chain due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan on March 11.
On July 14, Frost & Sullivan forecast vehicles sales in Malaysia would dip to 615,900 units in 2011 from the earlier projected 623,000 units due to the Japan earthquake.
It had said the TIV for 2011 would be impacted due to production slowdown and delay in key models launches by automakers.
