By Sangeetha Amarthalingam / theedgemarkets.com | March 10, 2016 : 7:16 PM MYTKUALA LUMPUR (March 10): Telecommunication sector company Key Alliance Group Bhd has been slapped with an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd, after its shares surged today.
At closing, the shares rose half sen or 7.69% to seven sen, with 85.9 million shares traded, for a market capitalisation of RM41.5 million. The shares have increased 55.56% in a year.
In a filing with the local exchange, Key Alliance was asked whether there is any corporate development, including those in the negotiation or discussion stage that has not been announced, that might account for the trading activity.
Bursa Securities also questioned if there was any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the group, or any other possible explanation that may have caused the surge, as well as whether the group was in compliance with the bourse’ listing requirements.
