Menara Optometry focuses on giving the best service
WHILE Menara Optometry Centre Sdn Bhd's focal point is in eye care, the company's success is partly due to its philosophy of listening to customers.
Set up in 1996 by four friends, Menara Optometry currently has 25 outlets and ambitious expansion plans.
Lending an ear, its chief executive officer and co-founder Amir Husain Rahman Shariff explains, means giving customers what they need instead of what they want.
The same motto is also how Menara Optometry brands and differentiates itself from others in the optical industry.
Their role as eye doctors take precedence over brands sold at their outlets.
"Optometry is the first line of defence when it comes to eye care.
"We look into the needs of our customers' lifestyles and then we suggest what is best for them," says Amir Husain, although he acknowledges that income is derived from selling glasses.
It helps that he and his fellow co-founders, Mohd Zaremdeen Mohd Zaman, Tajol Akhmal Jaapar and Zawawi Zakaria enjoy meeting people.
That is why the company focuses on offering the best service, which Amir Husain also described as its best product.
Paying attention to people has guaranteed repeat customers, Amir Husain says, adding that some have been patronising Menara Optometry since they were children.
"And then one day, you get an invitation to their wedding!
"We are your family optometrist," he declares.
Menara Optometry plans to maintain this aspect of their business, which is why they plan to open a Facebook account to better interact with customers.
