FBM KLCI falls 30.26 points in July

NEW YORK: US stocks sank on Friday, weighed down by an unexpectedly negative report on the country's economic growth and nervousness over the debt-ceiling battle in Washington.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 96.87 points (0.79 percent) to close at 12,143.24. It has now fallen for six consecutive trading days.

The broader S&P 500 tumbled 8.39 points (0.65 percent) to 1,292.28, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite shed 9.87 points (0.36 percent) to close at 2,756.38.

The Dow plunged more than 100 points in opening trade after the government reported that US gross domestic product grew just 1.3 percent in the second quarter, a much slower pace than economists had expected.

Notably, the government also slashed its estimate for first-quarter GDP growth from 1.9 percent to just 0.4 percent.

"The revision of Q1 was pretty stunning. Not a good overall number to finish the week on," said Marc Pado, chief US market strategist for Cantor Fitzgerald.

Stock markets later made up some ground but remained depressed as investors worried about the looming threat of a default by the US government or a downgrade of the United States' top-notch credit rating.

Only four days remain before a deadline set by the US Treasury for when it says it will stop being able to pay its bills unless Congress raises the government's $14.29 trillion borrowing limit.

Congress has been unable to reach a compromise as deeply divided Democrats and Republicans have struggled to bridge their differences over taxes and government spending.

In company news, shares of Yahoo! fell 3.0 percent after the Internet services firm announced that it had settled a dispute with its Chinese partners over payment-processing unit Alipay.

Yahoo! claimed victory in the agreement, but some analysts compared the resolution of the dispute to a forced sale.

Shares of Chevron, the number-two US oil company, dropped 1.0 percent even though it reported that its second-quarter profits had surged 43 percent to $7.73 billion.

Bond prices rallied. The yield on the 10-year Treasury fell to 2.81 percent from 2.95 percent late on Thursday, while the 30-year bond dropped to 4.13 percent from 4.26 percent. -- AFP

Ya lo, market sentiment is the major consideration. Just a watchlist only. Emico Picorp die, look at their past, they were nothing special also, haha, i also learned a lesson. CME can hit and run this morning. but i will continues to watch it, it cant say die yet. Technical only can very useful when the market is good.

i notice you aim for cheap stocks due to low cap bt......broaden ur perspective lor.....dont always aim for 10ct stcok....sometimes go for 50ct....rm1 stocks

sometimes those high price stock when chiong it chiong 20cts....15cts so 100 lot equals 2k d u knw....



in conclusion technical can help u make ur watchlist.....bt in real market situation apply wysiwyg lor....

for guys like u who apply wysiwyg its very good

i m 2 kful tat i only went in at d opening of trading n once sold nvr look back ... take zecon n ingress all dragons which i missed tot game over tat i shd concentrate
on trading cw less risky ... i m also not mindful of d index movement until some1 pointed out tats y is good not 2 trade alone ...

cons is the stock might go higher

one weakness i have in goreng stock is i dont q.....so miss out many pt opportunity....i usually spot sell

haih.....cos i scared if q....the buy q dissapear cannot run.....bt the only chance to win in some goreng stock is quing cos the q keep coming back

10k lot is composed by certain bid or few successive bids? i think you can done trade if you sell instant on few bids lower.

I always afraid to hit and run leh, not dare man, Mayb my skill still poor... This one must keep monitoring on the screen only can do it... Wait until i holiday then i can learn more

Phoenix thx for ur remind, ya i shud not only look for below 20cent counter. I always look for it, because it is easier to get goreng up and you can get the maximum profit with limited capital. I just hope if i spot those counters which are 50sen above they will have warrant. haha.

Next week market all very green as US passes to raise the debt ceiling

i used to focus on 20ct counter too......but lets say there are only 100 20ct counter.....if u open urself to all there are alot more opp lor.....where got hari hari 20ct counter goreng one rite???

counter below 10ct move very slow due to huge sell q

counter from 15-30 are my fav....move fast

30-50 i can afford the move fast too



but the fastest grp is 70-80ct the can move all the way to rm1....



rm1 counter also nt bad cos the bid is nt half ct.....

lets say u take 500 lot 20ct counter.....when it go up 1 bid u earn 250....

fundamental useless onelah especially goreng stock.....last time i used to take few hours to research on ipo like ijacobs....boilem....and other goreng company.....the moment boilem open at 85ct my research n fundamental all throw out of the window......these day i lazy to research liaoi....do abit research then rest wysiwyg.....in fact the research i do is nt abt the company....is who is the director....try to guess who will goreng.....the no of share the buy sell q.....



those ppl in investlah want a reason to buy mah=investor....so if the stock crash the can con thmself that the stock have fundamental lor.....or if their fren ask why u buy they can tell lor....and mayb persuade others to buy lor....
