AirAsia passengers up 19.3pc in July

AirAsia Group's passenger traffic for July 2011 rose 19.3 per cent to 2.648 million from 2.218 million a year ago, with a
major chunk contributed by AirAsia Malaysia.
AirAsia Malaysia carried 1.54 million passengers in July, an increase of 12.1 per cent from 1.37 million passengers it carried in the same month in 2010.
Its other units are in Thailand and Indonesia which carried 567,100 and 541,220 passengers respectively for the month of July, said the airline in a statement today.
It said load factor for the group also rose to 82 per cent from 79 per cent previously.
