QSR reaps higher profit of RM65.7m in Q2
QSR Brands Bhd's pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2011 increased to RM65.715 million from RM64.119 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
Its revenue rose to RM825.556 million from RM733.210 million previously.
For the six-month period, the fast-food restaurant operator posted a pre-tax profit of RM129.440 million from RM124.122 million in the corresponding period last year.
Its revenue rose to RM1.605 billion from RM1.457 billion previously In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, QSR said in view of the prevailing inflationary pressures, the management would continue to develop and introduce new products and promotions with value propositions in mind to drive transactions at the group’s operating network. "The group will continue to implement its plan of increasing revenue and profitability by enhancing customer experience, increasing the restaurant network, expanding business activities, developing better cost efficiencies and improving productivity at all restaurants, manufacturing and production facilities," it said.
QSR Brands said it was confident of registering satisfactory performance for the rest of the year.
Meanwhile, KFC Holdings (M) Bhd, which is controlled by QSR, posted a marginal increased in pre-tax profit in the second quarter ended June 30, 2011, to RM52.963 million from RM52.086 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
Its revenue rose to RM690.090 million from RM606.207 million.
For the six-month period, its pre-tax profit rose to RM105.613 million from RM102.204 million in the corresponding period last year while revenue grew to RM1.334 billion from RM1.207 billion. -- Bernama
