Shell Malaysia to add 50 stations by 2012

Shell Malaysia Trading Bhd said today it intends to establish 950 petrol stations nationwide by end of this year as part of its expansion plan. Currently, it operates about 900 stations in the country.
Speaking to reporters after the Shell Select Refresh & Win Contest Grand
Finale here today, Retail National Sales and Operations Manager, Leslie Ng said
the company also aimed to open at least 20 new stations in the country annually in the near future.
However, he did not elaborate on the cost of such investment. "The exact cost of investment will differ according to the location and size of the land involved," said Ng.
The expansion plan would also involve Shell Select Shops, which are expected
to grow in number with the opening of each new station, added Ng.
The Grand Finale of the Shell Select Refresh & Win contest, which kicked off
in June, saw 18 Shell Select customers walking away today with cash prizes worth RM48,000.
The contest was organised by Shell Malaysia in collaboration with BonusLink
network partners and its preferred partners. -- Bernama
