Hwang-DBS posts higher Q4 pre-tax profit

Hwang-DBS (M) Bhd's pre-tax profit for the fourth quarter ended July 31, 2011 rose to RM32.41 million from RM15.95 million in the same quarter last year.
In a filing a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Hwang-DBS said the higher
pre-tax was due to net realised gain on securities held-for-trading by the
investment banking division, higher gross dividends and income distributions
coupled with higher fee income in the current quarter.
Its revenue rose to RM95.58 million from RM88.67 million previously mainly
due to higher contributions from the investment banking, fund and asset
management businesses. -- Bernama
