VW Malaysia drives away with 7 awards
KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM), a subsidiary of
Volkswagen AG, has scooped seven awards from the motoring media
fraternity this year.
VGM managing director Ricky Tay said it
will continue to educate Malaysians on "Das Auto, the Volkswagen
principals and increase overall customer satisfaction".
VW is the original and biggest-selling marque of the Volkswagen Group.
Today, the group also owns the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini,
Porche, Seat and Skoda marques and the truck manufacturer Scania.
Currently, DRB-HICOM Bhd's plant in Pekan, Pahang is assembling Volkswagen's Passat and Polo models.
The aim is to make Volkswagen cars more price competitive and appealing to Malaysians.
Tay said Volkswagen strives to be the No.1 non-national car choice for Malaysians.
"The public fast becoming acquainted with the Volkswagen brand as it rapidly appeals to a cross section of society."
Among its brand initiatives targetted at Malaysian consumers include
the Volkswagen Das Auto Show 2011 held at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, three
months ago.
Volkswagen's dealer network expansion also
complemented its brand exposure with the opening of the dealerships in
Jalan Ipoh and Jalan Sungai Besi in Kuala Lumpur, in Ipoh, Perak and one
in Kuching, Sarawak this year.
