1.5pc payout for Amanah Saham Sarawak
Amanah Saham Sarawak Berhad (ASSB) today announced an interim cash
distribution of 1.50 per cent or equivalent to 1.5 sen per unit for the
state unit trust fund, Amanah Saham Sarawak (ASSAR) unit holders, for
the first half of its financial year ending June 30, 2012.
A
total of RM8.32 million will be distributed to the 72,263 registered
unit holders, who had subscribed to 554.54 million ASSAR units as at
December 2011.
"The interim cash distribution, which is the 24th
dividend exercise for ASSAR since its inception in August 1993,
demonstrates its commitment and ability to sustain the policy of
declaring dividends to its unit holders," ASSB, the management company,
said in a statement here.
It said dividends amounting to RM500
and below would be automatically reinvested into ASSAR units and
credited into the holders' accounts.
Cheque payments for dividend
amounts exceeding RM500 would be forwarded to the unit holder's latest
address in the ASSAR investor register.
The net asset value of ASSAR following the interim dividend payment will remain at RM1.00 per unit.
Since
its inception, ASSAR had distributed a total of RM578.04 million in
cash dividend and bonus units to its investors, or equivalent to an
average return of 6.57 per cent per annum. -- BERNAMA
